Electro-Mechanical Test Technician

Based at the Woolpit factory in Suffolk, this role is an essential part of the process of achieving customer satisfaction through providing a quality product on-time and in full. Following standard operating procedures (SOP’s) to take component product assemblies, configuring them to each specific customer order, assembling the variable pieces, performing functional tests & calibration to specifications and reporting all results for archive.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, and working as part of the production team, the role requires accuracy, attention to detail, great dexterity, fault finding skills to component level, a logical approach to problem solving and the ability to follow instructions and procedures to achieve customer satisfaction and business objectives.

Roles and Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have a relevant qualification and/or experience in electronic engineering and have mechanical assembly experience.

  • Support high customer satisfaction through-
    • ensuring specifications and high quality standards are always met
    • achieving on-time in-full
    • Build, test and repair small electromechanical sub-assemblies and full systems
    • Fault finding down to component level
    • Work with careful attention to detail
    • Working to engineering drawings, models and schematics provided
  • Adhere to all Company policies and processes
  • Promote good housekeeping for an efficient working environment
  • Contribute to the maintenance of Health and safety in the workplace

Experience, Qualifications and skills

  • Minimum of 3 years in similar industry
  • Familiarity with electronic components and their in-circuit functionality
  • Experience of hand assembly of electronic and/or precision mechanical systems
  • Formal qualifications in electronics or engineering
  • Soldering experience
  • Good hand to eye co-ordination and manual dexterity
  • Competent computer literacy
  • Ability to communicate to all levels of the Business

Advantageous

  • ONC/HNC level qualifications in electronics or mechanical engineering
  • Knowledge of vacuum practices, electron microscopy, materials testing
  • An understanding of MRP/ERP systems

Production Administrator

Deben UK Ltd design and manufacture a range of scientific products, including parts for Scanning Electron Microscopes and In-situ tensile testing equipment at their Suffolk headquarters. Part of a £100M AIM listed company Deben are in a sustained period of growth and require additional staff to join our expanding team.

Role

The Production Administrator will ensure they provide an excellent level of support to the production team. The role will require an organised and structured approach, the candidate will be a pivotal member of the production team, as such will need to be articulate and have excellent communication skills in both a verbal and written manner. Liaison with our worldwide customer base daily via phone and email; with a conscious awareness that English may not be the recipients first language

Responsibilities

  • Processing customer orders – uploading information onto MRP system for production
  • Customer order acknowledgements, alongside regular communication to customers
  • Creation of customers invoices
  • Preparation of shipping documentation, address labels and Air Waybills
  • Coordinating office activities and operations to secure efficiency and compliance to company policies
  • Organise, file and archive production documentation
  • General office duties including answering of main phone line and front door to visitors
  • Provide day to day administrative assistance to the production team
  • Any other activity deemed necessary by the company

Requirements

  • Previous administrative experience
  • Proficient in the use of IT systems and experience using Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing workloads and demands
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge; methodical and organised with an attention to detail

Skills

  • Integrate and work effectively within the business
  • Capacity to understand and adhere to all company policies and procedures
