1. Assembly Technician

This role requires a hardworking, highly motivated electro-mechanical assembler to work in the cutting-edge field of scientific instrumentation. The individual is required to assemble mechanical/electronic assemblies of moderate to difficult complexity, including prototypes, first-offs and some legacy products. Work is typically a mixture of PCB, cable and mechanical assembly, of sub-assemblies, chassis and final product build. They will also be expected to assist others during assembly of components, complete subassemblies, assemblies, and or system tools.

 Responsibilities:

  •  Work as part of the production team, reporting to the Production Manager
  • Produce mechanical/electronic assemblies on time to the required quality standard
  • To provide fault finding assistance, both on production and service items
  • To undertake training required to effectively perform within your role
  • Promote and adhere to good housekeeping for an efficient working environment
  • Comply with all Company Health and Safety guidelines
  • Any other reasonable request as identified by the Production Manager in order to meet business needs

Requirements:

  • Electronics/mechanical assembly experience
  • Previous experience working in mechanical/electronics environment
  • Computer literacy, minimum MS office and outlook
  • Conscientious with an eye for detail and accuracy
  • Ability to understand and follow engineering drawings
  • Formal qualification in electronics or mechanical assembly would be desirable

Additional Information:

  • Working week is Monday to Friday
  • Flexible working hours
  • 23 days holiday plus bank holidays per annum (note* 3 days will be retained for Company Christmas shutdown)
  • Full Time
  • Free on-site parking
  • Onsite kitchen facilities
  • Two paid daily 15-minute breaks

2. Test Engineer

To form part of the expanding test team within production, reporting to the Production Manager. As a member of our test team, duties would be to test electronic control systems and electro-mechanical modules and systems prior to customer dispatch.

Responsibilities:
  • Fault finding down to component level and solution proposal
  • Build, test and repair electromechanical sub-assemblies and full systems
  • Work with careful attention to detail ensuring specifications and quality standards are always met
  • Working to engineering drawings, models and schematics provided
  • Create test procedures and reports
  • Source component obsolescent replacements when required
  • Adhere to all Company policies and processes
  • Promote good housekeeping for an efficient working environment
  • Contribute to the maintenance of Health and safety in the workplace
Requirements:
  • Familiarity with electronic components and their in-circuit functionality
  • Competent computer literacy
  • Ability to communicate to all levels of the Business
  • Extensive experience within an electronic manufacturing and test environment
  • Minimum of HNC in electronics
  • Knowledge of vacuum practices, electron microscopy, video processing or materials testing would be advantageous
